While it may sound simplistic, my reason, passion, and energy for fulfilling my life’s purpose centers around two words: Helping People.

I was a social worker for 18 years – helping people is in my DNA. With a bachelor’s degree in psychology and a master’s degree in social work from the University of Kansas, I enjoyed a wonderful career as a therapist and as a director of children’s services doing my best to help people with life’s challenges.

Since 2011 as a pension and financial consultant, my passion has been channeled into helping people with their financial lives, and developing plans to help them address the challenges of saving for retirement and pension optimization.

My parents were both in the field of education their entire careers. Therefore, I have a special place in my heart for educators and all helping professionals. It is from this place that I want to make sure everyone gets the help they need to get their pension and retirement planning right.

For myself and our team, helping means sharing our knowledge, passion, and purpose. I’m proud of my association with Michael Hosford, the founder of Synergy PhD. When I met Michael several years ago, I learned his personal story of overcoming obstacles, perseverance, and a deep desire to become the absolute best at what he does by serving others. The team we have at SynergyPhD embodies that value-driven approach.

I am enormously blessed and thankful to be able to do this work alongside my wonderful wife, Heidi, and our three amazing children, Mason, Hagan, and A. J.
