Josiah Monroe was born in Austin, Texas and was raised in Bastrop, Texas being the youngest of 4 siblings and son of Mary and Ozie Monroe. He’s a graduate alumni and former student athlete at the University of Texas at San Antonio where he was blessed to play football all 4 years under one of the greatest college football coaches in, Larry Coker. There he received his Bachelor of Arts in Multidisciplinary Studies with an emphasis in kinesiology, health and sociology.
After college he enjoyed every moment of his 2 years training for the NFL, but unfortunately was never able to step in front of the big lights. Knowing that everything happens for a reason, he decided to hang up his cleats in good health and went to work at Garner & Riley Physical Therapy in Bastrop. There he advanced his knowledge of improving athlete’s performance and proper maintenance for his own body as he gets older.
It’s important to him to give back to his community through volunteering, mentoring, and training student athletes. Through the years he and Michael Hosford have partnered at SynergyPro and working together helping professional athletes properly structure their wealth and build retirement plans, so they can enjoy life after playing. SynergyPhD provides the opportunity to help everyone with a pension understand its complexities and how to maximize what is most likely their largest asset. It’s critical to ensure the clients are prepared to face the multitude of decisions they may face in retirement.
Working with SynergyPhD has been life changing by being able to do what he loves in life while helping others and creating strong relationships with good people.
Don’t aspire to make a living, aspire to make a difference. – Denzel Washington
